On July 4, 2007, an opening ceremony for the American food festival was held in the Carrefour- Wenhua outlet. As the key ATO cooperator, ASMI was invited to attend the ceremony. The attendees included LaVerne E. Brabant from ATO Beijing, directors from the Shenyang Food Institute and representatives from other American institutions. The ASMI representative gave a brief introduction of Alaska seafood to local journalists. Through the media we hope more Shenyang citizens will learn about Alaska seafood. After the ceremony, LaVerne E. Brabant and other attendees paid a visit to Carrefour and checked in-store decorations and sales, of which they later spoke of highly.

Throughout the whole July of 2007, the American Food Festival was held in Carrefour’s Wenhua outlet in Shenyang. Alaska seafood was particularly highlighted during the festival and the promotion was very popular. During the activity, Alaska sockeye, king crab, snow crab and black cod were displayed and available to the citizens of Shenyang. According to the store’s manager, sales were considerable. The storekeeper also showed great interest in hosting more in-store promotions as such, which enrich the dinner tables of Shenyang locals.
