On July 7th, 2006, ATO Beijing conducted an “American Food Barbecue” on the Great Wall near Beijing. There were traders, U.S. cooperators and over 200 journalists from popular local media in attendance.

At the Barbecue, Alaska black cod was one of the most popular products, winning the appreciation of many of those in attendance with its delicious and pure taste. Staff from ASMI introduced Alaska seafood’s rich nutritional facts, attributes and current market activities in China. Meanwhile, there were a variety of small games played,

Through the activity, ASMI strengthened contact with local traders, raised consumer awareness of Alaska seafood and built closer relationships with local media. All of which proved to be constructive in expanding Alaska seafood’s market in Beijing and the rest of Northern China.
