On Sept 5, 2011, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) held a remarkable lunch reception for local traders at White Swan Hotel, Guangzhou. There were 50 local seafood traders and retailers from Guangzhou attending the lunch reception, and Joe Jacobson who is ASMI International Program Director also joined the lunch along with the group. This time, ASMI brought Alaska sockeye salmon, Pacific cod, halibut and Pollock roe to the guests. In order to allow the guests to have further understanding of Alaska seafood, staffs were there to introduce some of the benchmarks features such as the nutritional facts and sustainability of the products and tried to explore any future cooperation opportunities with the traders there.
